Trying Something New | Han's Healthy Kitchen

Hello Everybody!

As I have previously mentioned on this blog I am really interested in healthy eating and fitness so today I thought I would share a new recipe that I tried out to hopefully encourage you to try out new things in the kitchen to defeat the idea of 'healthy eating is boring' - because it doesn't have to be!

Ingredients needed : (these measurements are for one portion so feel free to double or triple the recipe as much as you like)

100g plain flour
1 egg
Handful of spinach
Handful of cherry tomatoes
3 tbsp. of double cream
Drizzle of olive oil
Sprinkle of salt and pepper

To make the sauce

This stuff is seriously delicious!

- Spray a hot frying pan with low fat oil.
- Add a good amount of spinach and cook until it is soft and dark green.
- Chop the cherry tomatoes in half and add.
-Turn down the heat and add the double cream and olive oil.
-Sprinkle with salt and pepper to season.
-Leave on a low heat whilst the pasta cooks.

To make the pasta

This is the first time I have ever tried making fresh pasta and is so ridiculously easy, healthier for you and so tasty!

- Add the flour and egg into a food processor until it is blended into a dough.
-Take out and knead the dough for about 5 minutes - don't skip this step else your pasta will turn out flabby and soft.
-Wrap the dough in cling film and place in the fridge for 15-30 minutes.
-Use a rolling pin or a pasta machine to get the pasta very thin and then cut into strips - for a tagliatelle sort of shape.
-Lay the pasta over a bowl to separate the strips and leave it to dry out for a couple of minutes to make it more manageable to boil.
-Cook for about 10 minutes and drain.

Then all that's left to do is add the sauce to the pasta and enjoy this guilt free meal with a glass of your favourite beverage.

It is simply delicious - and so easy to make!

Stay Happy,
Han xxx

The Favourite Five

Hello Everybody!

I like nothing more than getting in from a cold wintery day and plunging into a hot bath followed by cozying up into a fleecy onesie and enjoying some crappy telly. And for these reasons, today I thought I would share with you my 'Top 5 Lush Winter Bath Bombs' which are the ones I have continuously bought throughout the last few months.

So in reverse order;

At number 5 it has to go to 'So White' eventhough this bath doesn't create the most exciting of baths ( leaving it a baby pink colour) that Lush is famous for; the smell is just something else. This apple scented bath bomb is a real taste of winter, cleaving you smelling crisp and squeaky clean. I especially enjoy this one first thing in a morning, leaving me feeling - and smelling - great for the rest of the day.

At number 4 it has to go to 'Shoot For The Stars' which is just the most beautiful nighttime bath. Of course the bath smells amazing, this bath bomb is just a work of art. As it fizzes away into a navy water it releases glitter simultaneously creating the effect of a winters' night sky. Perfection.

At number 3 is the 'Father Christmas' bathbomb which is just spectacular. As this bathbomb works its citrusy scented magic in the bath it turns from red to green. I love this one because it just couldn't be more festive if it tried and it also leaves my skin smelling great until I wash again - which is sometimes overdue because I never want this scent to leave!

At number 2 is the 'Golden Wonder' bathbomb or what I like to call 'The Ultimate BathBomb'. This bath is definitely a present waiting to be opened, with a 'good enough to eat' lime scent I certainly bathe in it for way too long. This bath creates a rainbow of colours; and finishes as a turquoise masterpiece - its almost like taking a dip in the Mediterranean Sea. What more could you ask of for Christmas?

And finally, the lush bathbomb taking gold in my favourite five is 'Cinders'. Although this is a smaller shape do NOT be deceived! Did you never hear the best things come in small packages? This bath turns your bath water a golden colour and a crackling sensation due to the popping candy - it's like a toasty winter fireplace. Additionally, it is scented with a rich fruit punch scent which to me is the reminder of spiced mulled wine bubbling away in the colder months. To me; this bath is just a warm hug and simplistic perfection.

What is your favourite Lush BathBomb?

Keeping it Dark

Hello Everybody!

This time of year is where the dark vampy lips belong. This time of year is where the dark evenings suggest magic in the air and where make-up holds a whole new chapter.

Dark lips are my favourite way to in cooperate the season into my makeup and I think I have found the perfect combination.

Using M.A.C 's lip pencil in 'Vino' all over the lips and adding M.A.C 's matte lipstick in 'Diva' over the top screams a confident lady ready to take over the world and paint the town red - or in this purple.

Are you brave enough to pull it off? I know you are.

Stay Happy,
Love Han xo
